Albright Care Services Receives Donation for Albright LIFE Lebanon

LEBANON, PA – Albright Care Services is pleased to announce receipt of gifts from B & B Partners and Community Homes of Lebanon County, Inc. toward the campaign to raise capital and start-up costs for the Albright LIFE Lebanon program.

With roots dating back to 18th Century Lancaster County and the founding of The Evangelical Church by Jacob Albright, Albright Care Services has been caring for seniors-in-need since 1916.  The faith-based not-for-profit corporation operates Senior Living Communities in Lewisburg and York, PA, and LIFE (Living Independently For Elders) programs in Lancaster and Lycoming counties.  Recently, Albright Care Services was awarded sole-provider status to operate a LIFE program in Lebanon.

Working in cooperation with Community Homes of Lebanon County, Inc., the Albright LIFE Lebanon Center will be in the former Boyer Printing Company building at 113 S. Ninth St., Lebanon.  Renovation has been going on for several months and the Center is expected to open in the fall of 2011.

Recognizing the value the Albright LIFE Center will bring to Lebanon, B&B Partners, former owners of the S. Ninth St. property, have made a $20,000 donation to the project.  That gift was then matched by Community Homes of Lebanon County, Inc.

LIFE is Pennsylvania’s version of the national Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).  Designed to meet the needs of the frail elderly poor, LIFE participants receive nursing-home quality care at the LIFE Center, but remain in their own homes as long as possible.  Funded jointly by Medicare and Medicaid, the LIFE model saves tax-payer dollars over more traditional senior-care models by closely monitoring the participants’ condition and providing coordinated care planning.  Albright Care Services will invest more than a million dollars to make the LIFE Lebanon program a reality. The above-mentioned gifts kick off a campaign to provide half that amount through the generous contributions of organizations and individual donors.
